LEBANON
As you have no doubt seen on the daily news, hundreds of thousands of people have - and continue to - flee from their homes in parts of Lebanon under fire.
Many are now in Beirut.
The government has allowed schools to be transformed into temporary shelters. From there on, it is everybody trying to help as they can.

Through the AidforAll Secretary, Dawn Hudson, and some of her Lebanese colleagues (one of whom has just lost his Father to the bombing) we have identified a group of students at the Lebanese University in Beirut who are gathering aid as best they can and distributing to approximately 30 school shelters. They are basically getting support from the local people and the occasional supermarket.

We had a long zoom call with Leen, a student at the university, yesterday and learned that larger, more famous, organisations are assessing the shelters but no aid has been offered.
So, a local collection has begun here at CERN within Dawn's experiment to send funds to Leen and her group as soon as possible.
Leen has just a couple of hours ago sent us some photographs of the school/shelters and her group.
The basic, most urgent needs are:

Nappies for babies

Pillows and underwear
